    About Journal

    The journal "Fine Arts of the Urals, Siberia and the Far East" is a periodical, professional publication on history, theory, the current state of fine, decorative, and applied arts, as well as folk and monumental art, sculpture, architecture, and design.

    The journal was founded in 2019 on the initiative of the chairman of the Regional Branch of the Russian Academy of Arts “Urals, Siberia and the Far East in Krasnoyarsk” S. E. Anufriev.

    The journal is published quarterly in print and electronic editions. It is included in the RSCI and in the open access research electronic library “CyberLeninka”.


    The purpose of the journal publishing

    Study and publication of the research results on the artistic heritage of the Urals, Siberia, and the Far East, and the development of the contemporary artistic process.


    The journal’s objectives

    • Study of the artistic heritage and contemporary art of the Urals, Siberia, and the Far East for a deeper understanding of history and modernity.
    • Propaganda of the artistic heritage and contemporary art of the Urals, Siberia, and the Far East as a tool for aesthetic, moral, and patriotic education of a person.
    • Providing a platform for artistic criticism and active discussion on current issues of theory, history, and contemporary artistic practice.
    • Education of young, aspiring art critics and artists.
    • Initiating various creative projects in the publishing field under the auspices of the journal, aimed at developing and supporting creative initiatives in the art of the Urals, Siberia, and the Far East.
    • Coverage of significant creative projects implemented in the regions, assessment of the prospects for the development of market formation processes, the level of artistic potential, the diversity of regional and national characteristics of artistic movements and schools, their study in the international context of the development of fine arts.

    The journal “Fine Arts of the Urals, Siberia, and the Far East” publishes articles written by representatives of regional art schools and research centers, as well as by authors from other regions, whose articles are devoted to the fine arts of the Urals, Siberia, and the Far East.

    Status

    This is a research and practical journal. Materials are accepted year-round. Articles that meet the requirements are accepted for publication. All articles received by the journal's editors undergo mandatory peer review to determine whether the received materials comply with the research and editorial standards and ensure the required quality of publications.


    The journal “Fine Arts of the Urals, Siberia and the Far East” publishes articles written by representatives of regional art schools and research centers, as well as by the authors from other regions, whose articles are devoted to the fine arts of the Urals, Siberia, and the Far East.

    Principles Of Editorial Policy

    • RELEVANCE

      The dynamically developing artistic process in the vast territory from the Urals to the Far East, which makes up about 80 percent of the territory of Russia, is relevant. The principle of relevance follows from the principle of actualization in the modern cultural community of problems associated with understanding the essence and development of art in the vast local-time space of the regions of the Asian part of Russia; the relevance is also determined by the continuation of the study and publication of artistic heritage and quality achievements in the modern artistic process in the Urals, Siberia, and the Far East.

    • SCIENTIFICITY

      The concept of “scientificity” implies that the editors of the journal impose qualification requirements for each research material: well-founded and verified research methodology, historiographic research of the topic; availability of database sources and archival data, reasoned judgments, scientific apparatus. At the same time, a heuristic approach is implied in the presentation of materials. This will allow the journal to be useful in the professional community of artists, art historians, cultural experts, philosophers, teachers, students, and graduate students of artistic and humanitarian specialties, and in a wider community of art lovers.

    • DEMOCRATIC

      This principle is ensured by the debatability and polemical nature of publications, round tables, and other forms of written and virtual communications. The journal sees its purpose as the organizer of a public department, whose participants are representatives of the professional artistic community.
